🥧 It's simple: The Ethereum Ecosystem is Scaling
Of course, 1 high-level metric isn't going to show you all the angles - that's why we have a whole site full of them. Ethereum chose to scale through the L2 roadmap, so measuring the TPS of L2s in aggregate is simply measuring the output of that decision. We also have throughput, blockspace, application, and many more metrics that can be used to show other angles.
The idea of comparing the max achieved TPS between chains is interesting, and this is a feature we will be enabling soon.
